Today we learned how to integrate a function using substitution. Homework is #1-33 odd on the 4.5 worksheet. Solutions are posted in the google folder.
Today we talked about the Fundamental THeorem of Calculus, and how it makes our lives easier. We no longer have to use the limit of a sum to find area, we can use FTC. Homework is worksheet 4.4 #5-41 every other odd problem (so, 5, 9, 13,...)
Solutions are posted in the google folder. NOTE: you do not need to show every step in detail. I did that so you could see how to rewrite the problem to match the rules you know. Today we talked about finding antiderivatives. Homework is the circled problems on worksheet 4.1 (don't forget the ones on the back side). Solutions are posted in the google folder.
Today we talked about properties of definite integrals. Homework is worksheet 4.3 # 23-43 odd. Solutions are available in the google folder.
Today we talked about the definition of an integral (definite integral) and practiced evaluating definite integrals using the definition. Homework is from the worksheet #3-8 (pick any 3, do more if you need more practice), 13-20. Solutions are posted in the google folder.
Solutions to yesterdays assignment are also posted in the google folder. Today we reviewed area approximations using RRAM and LRAM. Then we learned how to write sums we were finding using sigma notation. Finally, we learned that if we divide our interval into n subintervals, find the sum of the area of those subintervals, then take the limit of the sum as n approaches infinity, we get the actual area under the curve. Homework was 2 worksheets. In the first worksheet, you just need to write the RRAM approximation in sigma notation (you don't need to solve). For the second worksheet, you need to find the area (using the idea of the limit of the sum) for each problem.
