Today we completed our kinematics unit with a group lab challenge. Nice work everybody - we will begin forces tomorrow.
If you were absent for the test, come see me during power hour so you can make it up. Bring your lunch because the test may take you the entire hour. You can also come see me before or after school.
Your test on 1 dimensional motion is on Tuesday (1st and 3rd period) and Wednesday (5th period). The previous post has links to videos for the major concepts we covered.
Solutions to all of the worksheets that we did are available in google drive. Email if you have questions. Here are some videos to help you review for the 1 Dimensional Kinematics Test:
Defining Motion Graphing Motion Kinematics Equations Free Fall Today we worked on free fall problems. Here are the solutions to the problems we worked together. You will have time on Thursday to finish the worksheet. It is due on Monday. Your test on 1 dimensional kinematics will be on Tuesday/Wednesday 10/16 and 10/17. The sub will hand out the review packet on Thursday/Friday, and we will go over it on Monday.
Today we talked about free fall, and worked on some problems. If you did not finish the explore in class, please finish it for homework as we will be talking about it tomorrow, and using the conclusions for it to solve problems.
Today we began looking at falling objects. We didn't have much time, but we did manage to gather data and calculate the acceleration of a falling ball.
Today we finished working through the kinematics problems. The solutions are available here:
Acceleration #1 Speed and Acceleration There will be a test on one dimentional kinematics next Thursday 10/11 (tentative). On Monday we practiced solving motion problems with kinematics equations. Worksheet #1 was due on Tuesday/Wednesday.
On Tuesday/Wednesday block, we used the dynamics carts and computers to investigate position and velocity graphs for various situations. We also practiced some more problem solving. Problems #1-5 on worksheet 2 (Speed and Acceleration) are due on Thursday. |
