Please make sure to watch the Chapter 3 playlist tonight (if you haven't already done so) and complete the peer review for all the videos. The review assignment is due tomorrow. You DO NOT need to do every single problem. Look for problems that might be challenging for you and try those! Make sure you try a variety of problems from each section. I realized too late that I forgot to include position, velocity, acceleration problems. I will put those on tomorrow's packet. Answers can be found here.
For Monday (5/31) you should watch all of the videos in the Chapter 1 playlist and submit a peer review form. Then you should complete some (4 or more) problems in each section of the review. If you complete problems on the first review I handed out, you don't need to complete the same type of problems on the second review. Make sure you try different types of problems to ensure you can do all types of problems.
The answers to the first review packet are here. The answers to the second review packet are on Ms. Dexheimer's website. Please email the link to your video to me no later than 5pm tonight! In the subject of your email please write the topic. Thank you!
Now that we are done with all new material, we can begin reviewing for the final exam. The final is COMPREHENSIVE and covers all the material we have learned this year. You will be creating a review video on one of the topics we have learned this year. The video should include example problems - make sure you include examples of every type of problem that might be asked for that topic. The project requirements and list of topics are in the review folder on google drive. At 2:30 today, you may go to Ms. Dexheimer's website and sign up for the topic of your choice. No duplicate topics allowed, and you are not allowed to delete a name from a topic that has already been taken!
The solutions to p. 452 #16-26 are in the chapter 8 folder.
The solutions to the review assignment (first 5 problems of each section plus a few others) are also in the chapter 8 folder. Tonight's assignment: p. 452 #16-24. Remember that you can use your integral sheet to find antiderivatives (arctan is going to show up in some of the problems!). You may also need to complete the square to "put" the denominator into a form that will allow you to find the antiderivative (problems 19 and 20). DOn't do problem #15 - it is more complicated and will frustrate you!
Review assignment (due Tuesday): p. 453 #1-14 (choose minimum of 5 problems), #15-26 (choose minimum of 5 problems), #39-48 (minimum of 5), #55-60 (minimum of 4). Today we worked on partial fractions integration. Assignment is p. 452 #1-12. Solutions are available in the ch8 folder.
Today we practiced integration with partial fractions. Homework is p. 451 #1-10. You should complete as many of the partial fraction decomp problems as you can (half sheet worksheet). I assigned # 14, 16, 17 for homework. YOU DO NOT NEED TO COMPLETE #16 - you just need to set up the partial fractions but do not need to solve for the values of A, B, C, etc.
Today we worked through some of the mixed review problems that were giving you trouble. Then we talked about how partial fraction decomposition is going to help us integrate a rational function for which our other techniques don't work. The solutions for the mixed review are available in the chapter 8 folder on google drive (thanks Dex for making the KEY!!)
Today we reviewed the concept of partial fraction decomposition, which you learned in Precalculus. We also reviewed how to use graphing calculators to solve matrices. We will continue working on practice problems for partial fraction decomposition in class tomorrow.
Homework is to keep working on the mixed review. The entire mixed review worksheet is due on Monday. |
