Today we worked through 2 static equilibrium problems. There is a webassign to practice this concept. Tomorrow you will be doing a lab.
Today we learned how to find the center of mass of a system of objects, and also the conditions for equilibrium. Please make sure you are working on webassign!
Today we learned about the concept of torque, how to calculate torque from a single force, and how to calculate net torque due to multiple forces (slides 40-50). You should work on the webassign problems to practice this concept.
Today we tied up a few loose ends with Chapter 8. We learned that for an object to roll without slipping, the velocity of its center of mass must equal r times its angular velocity. Keep working on webassign.
