Today we talked about beats and doppler effect. We also did a quick demo lab to measure the speed of sound in the classroom using a tuning fork, water column, and a PVC pipe. The solutions to the sound/doppler effect concept questions are in the google drive folder. Tomorrow we will work on some AP problems, and also you will begin your take home test on this unit (simple harmonic motion and waves/sound).

Today we completed our discussion of standing waves. Please complete the rest of the packet. Solutions have been posted (with corrections) in the google drive folder for this unit. Check your answers to see how you did and work on making sure you understand it well! After spring break we will finish up the waves unit with a discussion of sound, beats, and Doppler effect.
Today we talked about standing waves and saw a demo of standing waves. We also talked about the factors that affect the speed of a wave. If you are having trouble visualizing standing waves, here is an applet that is very helpful! Please work on the waves packet, and finish as much of the webassigns as you can. We will be completing the packet in class tomorrow. Solutions to pages 1-5 of the packet are in the google drive folder. The solutions for the remaining pages will be posted tomorrow.

Reminders:
Chapter 2 test retake is Wednesday 10/17. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
