Today we finished gathering data for the marble lab. After we graphed the data, we discussed the average velocity and instantaneous velocity, and how we can find the instantaneous velocity of the marble.

Today we gathered position vs. time data for a marble rolling down an incline. We will use our data to create mathematical models for accelerated motion. We ran out of time and will finish gathering data tomorrow. There will be a homework check tomorrow covering the first two webassigns.
Yesterday we interpreted our data from the buggy lab and were able to derive a general formula for constant velocity motion. Today (Tuesday) we will work in groups to solve practice problems, then work on webassign problems for more practice.
Today we went over some important physics definitions: scalar, vector, distance, displacement, speed, velocity. Then you practiced applying these concepts with a webassign (Describing Motion).
No class today because more than half of the students were at the senior meeting.
Today we began to talk about motion in a straight line. You gathered position vs time data for two different buggies. Please graph your data (position on the y-axis, time on the x-axis) for both buggies. You can graph both buggies on the same coordinate axes, but you should use different colors so you can easily tell which line corresponds to which buggy.
On Tuesday we went over the class policies and syllabus. You each received a copy of the class syllabus. Please read through the syllabus with your parent/guardian. Once you have read it, please complete this form to indicate that you have read and understood the class policies. This is due by Friday 9/8.
