In the last couple of days we have learned how to represent vectors graphically, in polar notation, and in component form. We have also learned how to add vectors graphically, and to add them using components. Homework, due Friday, was a worksheet to practice finding components and adding vectors using components.

Today we did a review of trig functions, and how we can use them to find the sides of a right triangle, or to find an angle in a right triangle. Homework is on webassign and is due on Thursday. We will have a work day on Wednesday to work on the trig review problems and vector problems, which we will learn tomorrow.
Today you received your scored exams. Your final grade that appears in the gradebook was scaled based on the cut scores of a typical AP Physics 1 exam. In order to earn this scaled score (which is higher than your raw score), you MUST complete test corrections and hand them in with your original exam by Friday October 14th. Guidance for test corrections is available in the google drive folder. If you would like to take a retest for this exam, please pick up a request form in class and complete it. Please note, if you do not complete test corrections I will update your grade in the gradebook with the actual raw score that you earned. Don't make me do it.
The solutions to the practice exam are in the google drive folder. Your exam will consist of 15 multiple choice questions, and 3 free response questions. One of the free response questions may be a lab based question, and one may be a paragraph length response.
Today we discussed several concept questions to prepare for the exam. The study guide was posted on 10/1. Tomorrow we will tie up any loose ends and practice some free response problems. Here are some solutions to free fall problems from your book (p. 55 #43-53)
Today we worked to solve some complex problems dealing with free fall. The solutions to these problems are available in the google drive folder. Please work on the WebAssign problems (Freefall #1). Make sure you bring any questions/concerns you have to class tomorrow! The exam is on Thursday. Study guide was posted yesterday (see 10/1 post).
The study guide (in the form of learning targets) for motion in one dimension is in the google drive folder. The free fall problems are on WebAssign. We will work several complex examples in class together on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday will be devoted to review and problem solving. There is also a review assignment on WebAssign. Make sure you let me know if you are still confused or having trouble with ANY of the material we have covered!
