Physics in your world. Take a picture of physics in action and write a paragraph explaining the physics concepts involved. You must be in the picture. You must explain the physics concepts thoroughly using proper vocabulary. The more in-depth your explanation, the more points you can earn. Most creative picture/explanation will get bonus points. You can earn up to 10 extra credit points in the test category. Extra Credit is due at the start of class on Tuesday January 3rd. No late work will be accepted for extra credit. If you are absent, send me a picture of your work by the due date/time!

If you forgot to hand in your friction lab today, please hand it in before you leave for break!!
Today we build and decorated projectile rockets. We will finish them up tomorrow, and launch them after break on the football field. Have a wonderful winter break!!
Today we reviewed for the forces test tomorrow. You have a study guide that tells you which topics/ideas are fair game for the test.
Your lab is due on Thursday. You need to write a summary in the form of Claim-Evidence-Reasoning. You need to make 3 claims about friction, and support each claim with evidence from the lab and reasoning. Today we completed the friction inquiry. You will write a CER conclusion to your lab tomorrow and hand it in. Part 1 of your forces test will be on Wednesday - a study guide was handed out in class. Only the items with an asterisk will be included on the test.
Today we began an investigation into friction. We will continue tomorrow (unless there is a snow day).
Yesterday we talked about the normal force. We were able to calculate the magnitude of the normal force for different situations. Then we looked at the concept of apparent weight. We finished this concept up on Wednesday. Homework is p. 129 #38, 40, 41. Tomorrow we begin our friction inquiry.
Today we talked about Newton's Law of Gravity, and found out why the acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 m/s^2. Homework is p. 128 #20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30, 33. Solutions to the problems can be found in the google drive folder for chapter 4.
Today we worked on force problems. If you did not finish the problems in class, you should finish them for homework and hand them in tomorrow. P. 127 #3,4,7,11,14,15,16.
