Today we built rockets in class. Hopefully there will be a nice day next week so that we can launch them outside.

Today we worked some example problems involving projectile motion. Homework is p. 82/83 #12, 14-17, 19-21, 26, 27. Solutions are available in the chapter 3 folder.
Homework is to finish the worksheet that was started in class.
Today we discussed what we learned from the projectile lab, and then we practiced finding the horizontal (x) component and vertical (y) component of velocity vectors. Homework is p. 81/82 #1-7,11 Solutions available here.
Today we did an online investigation on projectile motion. You should have gathered all of your data, and answered all of the questions in the packet during class. Tomorrow we will discuss the results. No homework tonight.
Today you got your chapter 2 test back. We spent the period working on test corrections. Submit test corrections on a separate sheet of paper (which will be stapled to your original test.) Explain what you did wrong the first time ("I guessed wrong" does not count as a valid explanation. "I forgot to define a positive and negative direction and therefore my velocity and acceleration did not have the correct signs" is a valid explanation.) Rework the entire problem, showing all your work, box the correct answer. Staple your test corrections to your original test and hand it in by Thursday 10/29.
Tomorrow you have a quiz on vectors. You should be able to draw a vector, add vectors graphically, find components of vectors, add vectors algebraically using components. Today we practiced finding vector components, and adding vectors using components. No new homework tonight. You have a quiz on vectors on Friday.
We continued working on yesterday's vector addition problems. Tomorrow we will work on a few last problems as a class to make sure everyone understands this concept. There will be a quiz on Friday covering vectors. Solutions to yesterday's homework are available here.
On Monday you had a sub. You worked on vector practice problems - finding vector components, and adding vectors algebraically. Your assignment, due tomorrow, is p. 21 Focus Problems #1,2,5,6,8,11,12,15,17,18 and p. 23 #23, 24, 26, 27,29,36, 37. Be prepared to present the solutions to these problems in class tomorrow!
Today we practiced adding vectors graphically, and then learned how to add vectors algebraically. No homework this weekend. You will have a sub on Monday and will work on a practice worksheet on Monday.
