Today we reviewed what we discovered in the online lab, and practiced using Snell's Law. Homework is p. 834 #1,5 (pick one), and p. 835 #1-3, 9, 10, 12, 16 (pick any 3). You can do more if you want. Homework is due Monday.
Today we listened to a guest speaker who talked about what we can do to improve sustainability of our natural resources. Tomorrow we will finish the refraction investigation.
Today we began in online investigation on the refraction of light. We will continue with the investigation tomorrow.
Make a video of you doing something physics related. Explain the physics in your video. Email the video to me no later than midnight Sunday April 16th for up to 10 extra credit points. The number of points depends on the quality of your physics explanation and originality of your video. You may work in a group.
Yesterday we had a quiz on curved mirrors. The quiz concludes our chapter on reflection of light. After break we will look at refraction of light.
Today we worked curved mirror problems (p. 794 #19-27) on whiteboards. We will finish the problems tomorrow and have a quiz on curved mirrors on Thursday.
Today we learned the mirror equation and magnification equation. You should use these equations to calculate the image distance and magnification for each of the scenarios in the curved mirror investigation packet to compare how closely your sketches agree with the theoretical values.
