Today we did some more practice problems using the work-kinetic energy theorem. Keep working on webassign!

Today we talked about the relationship between work and kinetic energy. We will review this again tomorrow as many people were confused. Try some of the webassigns tonight to see how much you understood.
Today we introduced the concept of work and learned how to calculate the work done by a constant force. We also learned how to find a "dot product", since work is the dot product of force and displacement. Homework is a webassign.
Solutions to the conservation of energy and momentum exam are in the google drive folder. The FRQ solutions guide is here. THe MC answers are as follows: VA; VB; VC; VD 1. C; B; B; C 2. A; A; C; D 3. THe solutions to the problems are available in the google drive folder, or here:
Solutions 1 Solutions 2 Today we tied up some loose ends in the chapter. We first talked about elastic collisions (BOTH kinetic energy and momentum are conserved). Then we talked about energy diagrams and how to interpret them. Make sure you are working on your webassigned. Your test is on Thursday and covers impulse, momentum, conservation of momentum, energy (gravitational potential, spring potential, and kinetic) and conservation of energy. You also have 2 labs to hand in - the hooke's law lab, and the interrupted pendulum lab.
Today you worked on the interrupted pendulum lab. If you have not completed the theoretical solution, you should do so this weekend. On Monday we will test your solutions for 3 different angles.
Today we reviewed for the test next week. We did some problems that involved impulse, momentum, conservation of momentum, conservation of energy, and centripetal force.
Yesterday you investigated the behavior of springs, alone and in parallel and series combinations. You graphed force vs. stretch and discovered Hooke's Law. Today we talked about elastic potential energy. There are webassigns that you should be working on to practice these concepts!
Today we began talking about energy, and learned how to calculate kinetic energy and gravitational potential energy. This material is covered in Chapter 10 in your book.

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
