The answers to the multiple choice section and the scoring guide for the FRQ's is available in the review folder on google drive. Unfortunately you cannot take the test out of the classroom, nor can you take pictures of it (sorry, collegeboard rules).
The power is still out and the new estimated restoration time is 10:30 am. I am cancelling today's practice session. Tomorrow's session is still ON at 9:00am. I will post a status by 8:30am tomorrow if for some reason there is another problem tomorrow morning.
Power out at school. Check back to see if we are going to start at 10:00.
Two practice sessions will be offered this weekend. This is optional, but a good opportunity to test your knowledge and determine the areas you need to further review. You can come to one or both sessions.
Session #1: Saturday 9am - 11am (or later if you want to grade your FRQs). Session #2: Sunday 9am - 11am (or later if you want to grade your FRQs) If you want to stay to grade your FRQ's, I will order pizza at noon. Meet at the gazebo door before 9am to be let in the school. If you arrive late, email me ([email protected]) so I can send someone to open the door. We have been talking about Simple Harmonic Motion. On Tuesday we analyzed SHM using an energy approach, and today we analyzed SHM of a mass/spring system using a forces (Newton's 2nd Law) approach. The 2 AP Practice problems are due tomorrow.
Solutions to SHM worksheet (kinematics and calculus of SHM) 1989 scoring guide 1996 scoring guide Solutions to book problems #1-10 Solutions to book problems #11-18 SHM video (aplus physics) spring/mass systems (aplus physics) Kinematics of SHM (slides from Friday) Today you will be working on the free response questions from the 2016 AP exam. Work through each prompt as completely as you can, then use the scoring guidelines to score your answer. Try to review concepts as you encounter things that you are struggling to remember.
Today we worked on some AP Practice Problems dealing with gravitation and other concepts. The quiz on gravitation is on Friday!
Today we graded the AP problem and then talked about orbital energy. The "test" for this chapter (13: Gravitation) is on Friday.
Today we derived Kepler's 3rd law (a consequence of Newton's law of gravity) and Kepler's 2nd law (a consequence of conservation of angular momentum). The first AP problem (2005M2) is due tomorrow. Also, begin working on the webassign as well. There will be a quiz on Chapter 13 (gravitation) on Friday. Cam, the solutions to the book problems are here.

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
