Today you used Vernier video analysis software to analyze the motion of a tennis ball. THere are 3 videos that you need to analyze and produce position and velocity graphs for each. We will have time on Monday to finish the computer work and begin the analysis questions.

Today you worked on test corrections. Remember, the adjusted score that is in the gradebook is only valid if you complete test corrections for ALL questions that you missed. You must explain why your answer was wrong using physics concepts, then solve the problem correctly (for multiple choice only) and show the correct answer. For free response problems, you need to explain why the process that you used to solve the problem did not work. Be specific and detailed in your explanation. If you choose not to do test corrections, then I will enter your raw score in the gradebook. Test corrections are due next Thursday (10/6).
Solutions Version B Solutions Version C On Wednesday we will have the exam on One Dimensional Kinematics (Chapter 2 in your book). You should be familiar with the following vocab:
Today we began reviewing for the first exam by looking at last year's exam. The solutions to the exam are in the google drive folder.
Today we learned how to find areas under curves using integrals. The solutions to the practice problems (yellow worksheet) are available in google drive. I think there are one or two mistakes in the solutions, so if you get a different answer than I did, you are probably correct.
Here are the solutions to Homework Quiz #2. There were 2 versions of the quiz, so scroll down to find the correct version so that your problems/answers match.
Today we worked through some more complex free fall problems. Solutions to the problems we did in class can be found in the google drive folder. Then we talked about how to find slopes using calculus, and how to find velocity and acceleration from position using derivatives.
Today we began discussing free fall. We went through several problems together, and then you worked on the next WebAssign problem set.
Today we talked about some of the more challenging problems on WebAssign. I also passed out an easier set of problems for extra practice. The KEY for the easy problems is available in google drive (you can also find KEYs for many of the webassign problems, but you will have to hunt for them. Sorry.) You also took a homework quiz, but I won't count it. The KEY for the homework quiz is also available in google drive. The due date for the webassign assignment has been extended to Thursday.
Today we reviewed the concepts of average velocity, and how to calculate it. We also worked some constant acceleration kinematics problems together.

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
