In addition to the extra credit opportunity posted on 11/20, you can do webassign problems for extra credit. There is a HUGE assignment that is posted and is completely optional. For every 12 points you earn, I will give you 1 extra credit point in the test category. You can earn up to 44 extra credit points. The assignment closes on January 2nd at the beginning of class. No Extensions!

Today we worked more practice problems in class. There are 3 webassigns for this chapter - practice, practice, practice. Most of the webassign problems have fully worked out solutions in the google drive folder (look for the book number in the webassign problem number and find the correct page number in your book. These problems are in Chapter 7 of your book.) If you get stuck - take a peek to get yourself back on track.
Some solutions to the examples we worked in class are also in the folder ropes and pulleys problems Today we talked about ropes (both massless and ropes that have mass) and pulleys (massless and frictionless). We did not have much time to do practice problems. We will continue tomorrow.
Today we practiced drawing free body diagrams for interacting objects, and identifying Newton's 3rd Law pairs of forces. There is a webassign that you should work on!
Today we talked about Newton's 3rd law. We practiced identifying Newton's 3rd Law pairs of forces. Then we began to solve problems involving interacting objects. There is a webassign with these problems, but you may not get very far because we didn't get to many of the example problems.
Test corrections are due on Wednesday December 20th (BEFORE winter break!). Make sure your corrections address the following:
- why was your original answer incorrect IN TERMS OF PHYSICS (do not say " i guessed" or "i didn't know") - SHOW ME how to find the correct answer if it is a calculation problem. Otherwise explain IN TERMS OF PHYSICS what the correct answer is. - for free response problems, compare your answer to my rubric and identify what you were missing and/or where you made mistakes AGAIN IN TERMS OF PHYSICS. Version A/C SOlutions Version B/D SOlutions MC Answer You must hand in test corrections to keep your scaled score. You must also hand in test corrections if you want to take a retest. The retest for this chapter will be given after winter break. Tomorrow is your test on forces and motion. The material on the test covers chapters 5 and 6 of your book. Most (if not all) of the webassign problems have fully worked solutions in the google drive folder for the chapter. The practice problems that we did in class are found here, and the solutions are also in the google drive folder.
Today we talked a bit about air resistance (drag) and terminal velocity. Tomorrow we will review for the Test on Thursday.
Friday we talked about air resistance (drag), but did not finish our discussion. I have created videos of the lecture so you can watch them before beginning your lab on Monday. The first video covers the slides that we already discussed in class on Friday (in case anyone wants to go back over the material we already covered). The second video covers terminal velocity, and the third video covers velocity time graphs. Hopefully the 2nd and 3rd video give you enough information to be able to complete your lab (or at least make sense of the data you are gathering) on Monday. Email me if you have questions!

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
