The last problem we did in class with the car going around the angled track was incorrectly set up. The friction force should point down the slope. This is because the car would tend to slide out of the circle (up the slope) so friction opposes the sliding motion and points down the slope. IF THE CAR WERE TRAVELING TOO SLOWLY AROUND THE TRACK, then friction would point outward. This is because when the car is traveling slowing, it would tend to slip down the incline. Friction would oppose the sliding and point outward.
