1. make you best attempt at answering the questions completely
2. find the scoring guide in the google drive folder and score your response using a different color pen. Mark your score (out of 15) at the top of each FRQ.

Monday is the test on rotational motion and angular momentum (Chapter 12 for those of you who are following along in the book.). See previous posts for review videos that you can watch if you are having trouble with some of these concepts as well as solutions to some of the webassigns. Also due on Monday (for a grade in the Daily Work Category: AP Practice Problems Packet #2. You will receive full credit if you do the following:
1. make you best attempt at answering the questions completely 2. find the scoring guide in the google drive folder and score your response using a different color pen. Mark your score (out of 15) at the top of each FRQ.

Today we finished up angular momentum, did some practice problems, and kept reviewing the unit. The test on rotation is on Monday.
Webassign solutions to the review problems are in the google drive folder. Solutions for the webassign (12.5 Angular Momentum) are available in the google drive folder.
Monday we are talking about angular momentum - how to calculate it, and conservation of angular momentum. Here are some review videos that can help you with the topic if you are struggling:
Angular Momentum #1 Angular Momentum #2 THe test for this chapter is on Thursday 3/29. More review videos for rotational motion can be found at these two sited: Lasse Viren's vidoes (Rotational Motion playlist) A Plus Physics Videos (see G. Rotation and H. Angular Momentum) Today we continued working on the falling toilet paper rolls lab. Please finish the lab for Monday. You only need to submit one writeup per group (either on poster paper or on notebook paper), but make sure your solve the problem both ways (energy and torque/force). THis is due Monday. You should also begin working on the 3 practice AP Problems!
Today we discussed rolling motion. Tomorrow you will do a lab. I won't be in class, so if you have questions about the lab, email me!
Some videos to review some of the concepts we have covered: Moment of Inertia Torque Rotational Dynamics Angular Momentum (we will cover this Friday/Monday) Conservation of Angular Momentum Monday we talked about Newton's 2nd law for rotation and completed several example problems. Make sure you are working on the webassign. Your test on this unit will be next Wednesday 3/28.
Tuesday we talked about the conditions for static equilibrium and completed several example problems. Keep working on webassign! Solutions to some webassigns are available in the google drive folder: 12.3 Torque and Dynamics (Newton's 2nd Law) 12.4 Static Equilibrium Today we practiced finding net torque. Keep working on the webassign problems.
Today we derived the moment of inertia of a thin rod using calculus. Here is a video to help you if we went too quickly in class. We also began to apply conservation of energy to problems where an object is rotating. Finally, we learned how to calculate torque.
Today we learned how to calculate rotational energy, and also learned about moment of inertia and how to calculate it. Please work on the webassign problems!

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
