The KEY for the velocity dependent force problems is in the review folder. You should have review materials for MC and FRQ for every major concept covered on the AP Exam. (Some of the materials were given to you during previous units - semester exam study materials covered kinematics and dynamics, gravitation review, oscillation review were handed out during those units.) The best way to review is to practice solving problems, then check your solutions to see how many points you would have scored. Monday we will review calculating moment of inertia for a solid object using calculus.
Your final exam is going to be a practice AP Exam, given on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Study, study, study!! Answers to Rotation MC: SECTION A: Torque & Statics 1. D 2. A 3. B 4. E 5. C 6. B SECTIONB: Rotational Kin & Dyn 1. A 2. B 3. D 4. A 5. A 6. C 7. C 8. E 9. C 10. E 11. E 12. B 13. D 14. D 15. E 16. B 17. B SECTION C: Rolling 1. D 2. A 3. A 4. E 5. C 6. A SECTION D: Angular Momentum 1. C 2. D 3. E 4. B 5. E 6. E 7. C 8. C Today we looked at velocity dependent forces, and we practiced writing differential equations and solving them. Do your best to try the problems in the packet. Some other good problems to try are 2002M3, 2007M3, 2010M1, 2010M3, 2011M2 all from your work energy packet. You also received the momentum/center of mass review packet. You should begin working the multiple choice and FRQ's in this packet as well. The more problems you try, the better prepared you will be for the AP exam. The scoring guidelines for all FRQs from 1990-2015 are in the review folder on google drive.
Answers to MC (Momentum): 1. B 2. B 3. B 4. E 5. A 6. C 7. D 8. A 9. D 10. D 11. A 12. E 13. B 14. C 15. C 16. A 17. E 18. E 19. A 20. B 21. C 22. C 23. B 24. E 25. E 26. B 27. D 28. E Today we worked multiple choice problems that pertained to work and energy. Homework is to keep working through the remaining multiple choice problems, and FRQ's #2002M3 and 2007M3. Make sure you complete your 2 study guides. Many people have already handed in their first study guide - they have been posted in the review folder on google drive.
Answers to the multiple choice problems: 1. B 2. A 3. E 4. C 5. C 6. C 7. A 8. A 9. B 10. B 11. E 12. E (I think this answer should be C : mgh) 13. E 14. A 15 B 16. A 17. C 18. A 19. B 20. A 21. D 22. C 23. A 24. E 25. C 26. E 27. D 28. E Today we reviewed the practice exam and tried to figure out where we need to focus our studying. If you would like more time to review your practice exam, please stop be before/after school or during lunch - you are not allowed to take the exams home.
To help us review all of the material for this year, everyone is going to create a study guide for 2 chapters that we have studied. Make sure your study guide includes important vocab, equations, how/when each equation applies, graphical or calculus relationships, and any other information you think would be helpful to you and your classmates. Your first study guide is due tomorrow. The second on is due on Thursday. Please email me your study guides (if electronic) and I will upload them to the review folder on google drive. (There is an example of a study guide in the folder if you want to see it.) If you handwrite your study guide, I can scan them and include them in the review folder. Tomorrow we will work on work/energy multiple choice and FRQs. I found a great review powerpoint online. Download it to your computer and run it in presentation mode. You can quiz yourself on formulas, units, and basic solutions to problems.
Today we finished the free response portion of the practice exam. Most people are beginning to see that they need to review ALL of the material we learned this year. We have 2 weeks before the exam. Let's make the most of the time!
Today we took an AP Practice Exam - multiple choice section only. Tomorrow we will take the Free Response section. No formal homework, but keep reviewing for the AP exam!
Today you got your gravitation quiz back. You may do test corrections if you want. Please complete test corrections by next Tuesday.
Make sure you are reviewing all of your notes in preparation for the AP exam. Tomorrow and Thursday we will have a practice exam in class. MC on Wednesday, FRQ's on Thursday. The notes on damped oscillations and resonance are in the chapter 14 folder. Answers to the Oscillations MC packet are as follows: 1. C 2. D 3. A 4. C 5. E 6. D 7. B 8. C 9. C 10. B 11. A 12. C 13. C 14. A 15. A 16. A 17. A 18. D 19. A 20. E 21. D 22. D 23. B 24. D 25. A 26. C 27. E 28. C 29. E 30. A Today we scored the 3 practice AP problems that you completed over the weekend (you did complete them, didn't you!). Homework is to begin working on the multiple choice practice problems.
