Today we checked the answers to the back page of the circular motion worksheet. I handed out a review packet for the exam (on Wednesday, be ready!). The packet contains problems (and answers) for every type of problem we covered in this chapter. I am not going to collect these review problems, they are there to help you prepare for the exam. We will do some review problems together on Monday.
Today we finished the chapter 4 material, covering non-uniform circular motion. Homework is the back page of the worksheet from yesterday.
Today we covered definitions for uniform circular motion - period, frequency, angular position, speed, angular speed, centripetal acceleration, as well as formulas. Homework is #1-11 of the worksheet (first side only). Answers are on the back. Solutions available in the 2D Kinematics folder on google drive.
Today we didn't get very far due to a long fire drill. We began talking about finding acceleration vectors, and defining centripetal acceleration. Tomorrow we will finish the discussion. No new homework. Finish up any incomplete assignments.
Solutions for problems #46-50 and #51-58 and 59-60 are available in the solutions/notes folder. Today we practiced working on some challenging 2 dimensional kinematics and relative motion problems. Solutions to the class problems are available here. Homework is to attempt 3 of each type of the challenge problems: p. 123 #55-60 (relative motion) and p. 123 #46-54 (2d kinematics). I will post solutions shortly.
Today we talked about relative motion, and went through some examples together as a class. Homework is p.119 Concept Questions #9-11, and p. 121 #16-19, due Monday.
Answers to 16-19: 16. 2km/h 17. 30s 18. 150m east 19. 75mph Solutions coming soon! Today we solved some 2 dimensional kinematics problems together, then you continued working on the previous assignment and/or began working on the new assignment: p. 120 #7-14, 41, 42. Solutions are available here.
Today we continued working on yesterday's assignment. People seem to be struggling with how to set these problems up. Tomorrow we will go through examples as a class so everyone can see how to attack these types of problems. Continue working on the assignment. The answers are in the Solutions/Notes folder (under Ch3 kinematics in 2D).
Today you had a sub. You had all period to work on the projectile motion problems that were assigned on Friday. See the previous post for the problem numbers, and the links to the solutions. These problems are due on Tuesday.

REMINDERs:Chapter 2 test retake is Monday 10/15. You can take the retest either before school or after school, but you must complete all of the Chapter 2 homework (75% completion on each assignment) to be eligible for a retake!
